Grounded, a Detroit-based startup building modular electric vehicle platforms, is hiring a Sales Engineer to be the technical bridge between customers and our engineering team. You will translate real-world needs into configurable vehicle solutions and help define a library of modules for scalable sales.

The role focuses on shaping modular platform patterns, partnering with sales, and collaborating with engineering to determine standard modules vs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in sales engineering, solutions engineering, applications engineering, or technical pre‑sales.
• Engineering background or strong technical fluency — mechanical, electrical, automotive, or hardware ideal.
• Able to translate customer requirements into feasible vehicle configurations and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Partner with account managers on technical discovery, scoping, and solutioning for customer deals.
• Translate customer requirements into vehicle configurations and specs.
• Be the technical voice in sales conversations—demos and site visits.
• Collaborate with engineering to define standard modules vs. custom work.
• Help build and maintain the module library and configurator.
