Job description

Are you a technically skilled, customer-obsessed problem solver with a passion for OpenShift? We’re seeking a Senior Sales Engineer – OpenShift Services to join our team and help enterprises modernize their platforms and applications through Red Hat OpenShift solutions. In this role, you’ll work closely with our sales, engineering, and delivery teams to drive pre-sales engagements, scope solutions, and craft compelling technical architectures tailored to client needs. This is a high-impact, customer-facing role that blends deep technical knowledge with strong business acumen.


Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical lead during pre-sales engagements, partnering with Account Executives to understand client needs and craft strategic OpenShift solutions.
  • Conduct discovery sessions with customers to uncover business challenges and align our OpenShift services with their modernization goals.
  • Deliver compelling technical presentations and live demos that clearly communicate the value of our OpenShift offerings.
  • Scope and estimate consulting engagements, designing enterprise-grade containerized solutions using OpenShift.
  • Develop and present technical proposals, architecture diagrams, and detailed Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise clients throughout the sales process, helping define migration strategies, integration plans, and platform roadmaps.
  • Collaborate closely with delivery teams to ensure seamless handoff and alignment on expectations.
  • Stay current with the evolving OpenShift ecosystem, competitive landscape, and customer trends.
  • Provide mentorship to junior technical team members and contribute to best practice development.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% for client meetings, workshops, and events.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years in a Sales Engineering, Solutions Architect, or similar technical pre-sales role.
  • Proven success in selling OpenShift services to enterprise customers.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading 7-figure enterprise deals.
  • Ability to provide verifiable references demonstrating OpenShift solution sales success.
  • Deep technical understanding of Red Hat OpenShift platforms.
  • Skilled in scoping consulting engagements, estimating engineering effort, and creating solution roadmaps.
  • Experience designing and presenting enterprise-grade containerized and cloud-native solutions.
  • Strong grasp of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and platform modernization strategies.
  • Ability to align technical solutions with customer pain points and strategic outcomes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
  • Experience writing technical documentation, SOWs, and RFP responses.
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and able to manage multiple sales opportunities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally across sales, engineering, and delivery teams.
  • Skilled in leading discovery calls, solution design workshops, and technical roadmap sessions.
  • Proven ability to architect best-of-breed OpenShift solutions tailored to unique customer environments.
Preferred Skills
  • Red Hat OpenShift Certifications (EX280, EX288)
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Application Developer (CKAD)
  • Experience deploying OpenShift on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Familiarity with tools like GitOps, Jenkins, Ansible, Helm, ArgoCD, or CI/CD pipelines
