Our team is growing fast, and we’re looking for a Senior Sales Engineer with solid technical depth and strong sales acumen to help educate, establish credibility, and build trust with prospects and customers.

Role Overview

The Senior Sales Engineer will be responsible for understanding prospective customer needs, guiding the technical conversations, securing and running a POC, and preparing post-POC documentation positioning the Run Security Platform as the ideal solution.

The ideal candidate must have a solid technical background and a demonstrated ability to understand and interpret prospective customer requirements and deliver customized product demonstrations to match prospective customer needs. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working directly with the VP of Sales and members of the Sales and Engineering teams, the position’s primary role is to support a growing customer base.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in sales conference calls and prospect visits, providing product demonstrations in person and via Zoom, and working with prospects at both a technical and business level to show how our solutions can provide value to them.
  • Possess demonstrable skills in customer-centric selling and a proven track record using it to help drive revenue.
  • Provide well-articulated, technical feedback to Product & Engineering teams to inform roadmap innovation.
  • Participate as a technical resource at trade shows and conferences when needed .
  • Work independently and as a vital member of a sales team .
  • Work with the sales team to strategize onstrategize sales approaches to develop business.
  • Ensure successful product evaluations and post-sale installations; continuing to support customer technical needs post-sale when necessary.
  • Identify and gain agreement with prospects on success criteria for trial evaluations
  • Plan, manage, and execute customer product pilots .
  • Facilitate technical discussions and strategies with existing installations to drive adoption and expansion business

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in cyber security, application development, devops, penetration testing, pre-sales engineering, or real-world use of database and web application solutions; preferably with 2+ of these as a sales engineer and experience working in a startup and vendor environment
  • Experience with cloud solutions such as Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure with hands-on deployment and administration across the stack (E.g., AWS VPC, IAM, EC2, EKS, K8s)
  • Possess a solid understanding of web applications, databases, security, and auditing environments
  • Hands-on experience with Linux
  • Must have solid knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, Load balancers, proxies, and firewalls
  • Working familiarity with compliance standards (PCI, SOX, HIPAA)
  • Experience with both automated and manual testing and penetration testing tools
  • Experience with scripting tools, Python - an advantage
  • Knowledge of advanced internet route selection protocols - an advantage
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Able to effectively present technical material to small and large groups
