Job summary

Unconventional AI is hiring a Technical Recruiter to partner with founders and engineering leaders, designing sourcing strategies and closing exceptional candidates across deep-tech domains. This role spans hardware architecture, AI research, and neuroscience talent pools, with high autonomy and a mission-driven culture.

You will build recruiting processes from the ground up, shaping the talent engine while preserving a rigorous talent bar and an exceptional candidate experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical recruiting experience in high-growth startups, frontier AI labs, or specialized deep-tech environments.
• Proven track record sourcing and closing exceptional talent in complex technical domains.
• Deep technical curiosity about novel computing architectures, hardware-software co-design, and AI.
• Strategic advisory skills; able to influence hiring decisions and guide senior stakeholders.
• Builder’s mindset with high autonomy, urgency, and fast-paced startup dynamics.
• Exceptional communication skills articulating a technical mission to top-tier candidates.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruiting: manage end-to-end hiring for highly specialized technical roles, from scoping to offer negotiation.
• Partner with leadership to understand needs, define role requirements, and translate priorities into talent plans.
• Build pipeline with proactive sourcing to engage top passive candidates in niche markets.
• Elevate the candidate experience with a high-touch, seamless journey from outreach to onboarding.
• Architect recruiting operations: refine processes, interview loops, and ATS workflows to scale without sacrificing quality.
• Evangelize our mission as a brand ambassador to academia, scientific communities, and deep-tech networks.
