Job summary

GitLab is seeking an intermediate-level Technical Recruiter to build and own searches for engineering and product teams. You will partner with leaders across Engineering, Product, Security, and UX, guiding searches from intake to close and building inclusive pipelines.

You will leverage data, market insights, and structured interview practices to shape strategy, while acting as a trusted advisor to hiring teams across distributed locations.

Qualifications

• Intermediate-level recruiting experience with ownership of full-cycle searches.
• Technical recruiting interest or experience across engineering and product disciplines.
• Developing advisor skills: stakeholder trust and influencing without authority.
• Proactive, diversity-focused sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill roles.
• Data-driven approach turning funnel insights into actions.
• Strong organization across requisitions with clear written and verbal communication.
• Experience with ATS and recruiting tools; ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Lead searches from intake through close for Engineering, Product, Security, and UX.
• Build inclusive pipelines using data and market insight to guide decisions.
• Grow into a trusted talent advisor and partner with hiring teams.
• Manage full-cycle searches for Backend/Frontend Engineers, SREs, Data Engineers, and PMs.
• Lead intake conversations to align role scope, requirements, and interview plans.
• Collaborate on structured, equitable interviews with actionable feedback.
• Shape search strategy with market research, compensation benchmarks, and feedback.
• Assess candidates on depth of experience, impact, and open source contributions.
