Job summary

Safe Fleet in New York is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead the technical delivery workstream for complex transit vehicle technology implementations. You will own engineering readiness, configuration accuracy, installation planning, and documentation, coordinating with Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Field Service, and customers.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 5+ years directing technical delivery, strong writing and communication,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, systems, manufacturing, or engineering technology; equivalent experience considered.
• Five+ years leading technical delivery in vehicle systems, transportation or field implementation.
• Working knowledge of electromechanical vehicle installations, drawings, BOMs, and change control.
• Ability to coordinate engineers, writers, suppliers, installers, and customer stakeholders.
• Strong writing, troubleshooting, facilitation, and customer communication skills.
• Proficiency with Office suite; familiarity with Jira/Confluence and document-control tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical workstream planning, milestones, dependencies, and delivery forecasts.
• Coordinate mechanical engineering and technical writing activities for high-quality outcomes.
• Align resources across vehicle types and project phases; track actions to closure.
• Provide accurate status, risks, and decisions to project teams and customers.
• Manage installation readiness, BOMs, drawings, and configuration records.
• Serve as technical escalation owner and mentor installers and field personnel.
