Job summary

Alten USA is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead complex technical and operational initiatives across manufacturing, CAPEX, and process improvement. You will guide projects from concept through implementation, coordinating engineering, operations, quality, maintenance, and finance to deliver on time and within budget.

The role emphasizes governance, risk management, and continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience managing technical, manufacturing, or capital investment projects.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, controls, and risk management.
• Experience managing budgets, CAPEX investments, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical skills interpreting project, manufacturing, and quality data.
• Experience creating schedules, WBS and milestone plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical projects from concept through implementation and sustainment.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including business benefits, project costs, CAPEX tracking, milestones, risks, weekly accomplishments, and project status reports.
• Establish and maintain project governance structures, including routines, review cadence, agendas, WBS, OBS, milestone plans, and cost/rate trajectories.
• Drive action item management and ensure timely follow-up and closure across all project stakeholders.
• Monitor project schedules and ensure adherence to overall project planning and milestone commitments.
• Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively escalation critical issues.
• Ensure achievement of project deliverables on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Finance, and EHS teams to implement improvements.
