Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a Technical Program Manager to drive complex, cross-team engineering programs across AWS-based systems. You will translate vague objectives into executable plans, manage dependencies, and partner with engineering and product teams to ensure timely delivery with high quality.

The role emphasizes technical fluency, ownership of end-to-end delivery, and strong communication across levels.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years in technical program management or software engineering, with 3+ years in TPM or delivery leadership.
Strong technical fluency and ability to read architecture diagrams and API contracts.
Experience with serverless architectures on AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
Experience managing programs across multiple engineering teams with complex dependencies.
Data-driven mindset and excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-team engineering programs from scoping to retrospective.
Break down large initiatives into milestones, workstreams, and deliverables with ownership.
Manage cross-team dependencies across backend, frontend, platform, and security teams.
Partner with Engineering Managers to align on technical approach and resource allocation.
Facilitate design reviews, sprint planning, and program-level syncs while avoiding process overhead.
Define program roadmaps, status reporting, and delivery metrics for leadership visibility.
Drive release planning and deployment for multi-service AWS rollouts with rollback strategies.
Champion operational readiness with observability, runbooks, load testing, and incident plans.
Identify bottlenecks and drive improvements to speed up delivery.
Communicate risks and tradeoffs clearly to engineers and leadership.
Support agile practices and ensure rituals exist to keep delivery predictable.
