Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive enterprise-scale software solutions within the TFS platform. You will design, implement, and scale platform features, collaborating with product managers, architects, and engineers to deliver high-quality code.

With 10+ years of experience, you will influence API design, AWS architecture choices, and observability practices while mentoring teammates and growing the contractor community.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with backend/full-stack focus.
• Proven ability to design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs with versioning and error handling.
• Deep expertise in AWS architectures including serverless, containers, and event-driven solutions.
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and quality checks.
• Strong troubleshooting, observability and performance tuning skills.
• Excellent collaboration and communication with product managers, architects and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions.
• Lead design and architecture of platform-level features for reliability and scaling.
• Proactively communicate risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Define and champion engineering and operational excellence across code quality, testing, and deployment.
• Mentor internal talent and actively recruit to grow the TFS engineering community.
• Drive AWS architecture decisions across serverless, containers, and data services.
• Build observable systems to track performance of distributed services and troubleshoot issues.
