Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Technical Program Manager for Applied Product & Platform in San Francisco. You will drive complex, cross‑functional program delivery across ChatGPT, API surfaces, and related platforms, balancing technical strategy with execution in a hybrid setup.

You’ll partner with product, engineering, design, legal, and GTM teams to ensure scalable, developer‑friendly interfaces and timely delivery across web, mobile, and backend surfaces.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years of experience driving high-impact technical programs in product and platform domains.
• Strong technical acumen across front-end/client technologies, API development, and scalable systems architecture.
• Delivered developer-facing tools or platforms and advocate for end-user and developer experience.
• Structured, empathetic communicator who thrives in cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities

• Shape roadmaps, technical strategies, and long-term platform direction with product, design, and engineering.
• Translate product vision into clear, scalable execution plans balancing short-term delivery and platform evolution.
• Lead end-to-end cross-functional programs from planning through launch and iteration.
• Own timelines, milestones, dependencies, and risk mitigation across teams.
• Influence API design and interface definitions for public and internal use, across web and mobile.
