Job summary

The John Gore Organization (JGO) in the United States seeks an experienced Event Planning and Technical Management professional to lead technical advance, staffing, budgets, and on‑site execution for Broadway engagements and private events.

You will manage labor, equipment, and vendor relations, coordinate across venues, ensure safety and efficiency, and maintain strong client communication while upholding union practices and venue policies.

Qualifications

• At least three years of live event production/ theatre operations experience.
• Strong knowledge of audio, lighting, video, staging and backstage operations.
• Experience supervising technical crews and coordinating with vendors; union crews preferred.
• Ability to develop production estimates, manage budgets and review vendor proposals.
• Evenings, weekends, holidays and late nights availability as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical advance for assigned Broadway engagements and events with clients, touring personnel and vendors.
• Determine staffing, equipment and scheduling requirements balancing production, budget and safety.
• Develop and direct technical schedules, crew assignments and work plans for load-in, setup, testing, rehearsals, performances and load-out.
• Allocate resources across events and coordinate between two venues with venue operations and Technical Director.
• Explain venue technical services and client responsibilities for finished content and direction.
• Participate in client site visits, venue walk-throughs and technical planning meetings to assess needs.
