Our Technical Product Owner is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and managing the delivery of digital products and technology solutions that support healthcare business objectives, member experience, provider operations, clinical initiatives, and enterprise innovation efforts. Serves as the primary liaison between business partners, healthcare operations, architecture teams, and software engineering teams to translate complex business and technical requirements into actionable product backlogs.
Owns product roadmaps, feature prioritization, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product outcomes. Ensures solutions are technically feasible, compliant with healthcare regulations, aligned with enterprise architecture standards, and deliver measurable business value.
This role requires a blend of healthcare domain knowledge, product management expertise, systems analysis, and technical acumen to effectively guide teams through the full product lifecycle. Although the majority of the work being performed will be in the AI space (using Claude and Bedrock), there will be work in the RTPO and RPA automation space as well as supporting common services.
Required Qualifications
- Location: this position is based in a hybrid work environment (combination of onsite work at the Meridian, Idaho campus and local work-from-home). Fully remote work may be considered for candidates located in a mutually agreed-upon location from within the Mountain West.
- Education : Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical or business field of study; or equivalent work experience (Two years' relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college).

- SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager (POPM)

- Experience:
- 3-5/+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Healthcare Analyst, or related technology role. Experience should include:
- Writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and managing Agile backlogs.
- Working with software development teams.
- Healthcare payer, provider, or health technology experience preferred.
- Leading complex enterprise product initiatives.
- Experience with healthcare workflows, compliance requirements, and technology platforms.
- Running enterprise integrations and large-scale digital transformation efforts.

Product Ownership & Strategy
- Own and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, regulatory requirements, member needs, and technical dependencies.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with organizational strategic objectives.
- Partner with business leaders, clinical stakeholders, operations teams, and technology leaders to define product vision and success metrics.
- Evaluate competing priorities and make informed tradeoff decisions balancing business value, technical complexity, risk, and delivery timelines.
- Define and communicate product goals, KPIs, and outcome-based measures.
Requirements & Story Development
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business, clinical, provider, regulatory, and operational stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into detailed epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure user stories meet INVEST principles and are ready for sprint planning.
- Create process flows, workflow diagrams, use cases, and business rules documentation.
- Decompose large initiatives into consumable development stories and tasks.
- Define functional and non-functional requirements including scalability, performance, security, accessibility, and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with architects and engineers to refine technical requirements before development begins.
- Maintain traceability between business goals, requirements, and delivered functionality.
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the product team's subject matter expert for system functionality, integrations, APIs, data flows, and platform capabilities.
- Work closely with solution architects and engineering leads to evaluate technical approaches and solution options.
- Understand cloud architecture, healthcare data exchanges, API integrations, and enterprise application ecosystems.
- Participate in technical design reviews and provide product guidance during architectural decision making.
- Partner with engineering teams to identify technical debt and prioritize remediation activi
