Tundra Technical Solutions is seeking a Technical Product Manager (TPM) in a hybrid role, located in Long Beach, California. The TPM will balance executive advisory with hands-on technical execution, ensuring aerospace toolchains align with regulatory standards and accelerate design-to-manufacture velocity.
Responsibilities include defining the engineering platform roadmap, resolving technical bottlenecks, and translating constraints into actionable business outcomes, all within an ITAR/EAR
We are seeking a high-caliber Technical Product Manager (TPM) who operates as a hybrid leader, blending executive-level strategic advisory with "hands-dirty" technical execution. This individual is responsible for the health, performance, and strategic alignment of engineering toolchains, ensuring that digital platforms accelerate design-to-manufacture velocity while maintaining rigorous aerospace compliance.
Executive Advisory & Strategy:
Strategic Narrative: Ability to distill complex system architectural risks and performance data into high-impact executive briefings and compelling business cases.
Value-Driven Operating Model: Expert capability in prioritizing backlogs based on business value, technical debt reduction, and impact on program-critical milestones.
Consultative Influence: Proven experience navigating matrixed organizational structures to secure leadership buy-in for multi-year technical initiatives.
Architectural Oversight: Strong understanding of aerospace engineering ecosystems, including the interoperability of CAD, PLM, and analysis toolsets.
Requirements Traceability: Mastery of translating high-level aerospace design constraints into granular, actionable technical specifications.
Workflow Optimization: Ability to identify operational bottlenecks and re-engineer data flows to support modern, agile engineering practices.
Practical Remediation: A "scrappy" approach to technical troubleshooting; ability to query databases (SQL), script workflow fixes (Python), and independently resolve system integration failures.
Technical Stewardship: Active participation in root-cause analysis for system failures, moving beyond high-level oversight to hands-on configuration and data validation.
Lifecycle Governance: Proficiency in ensuring all digital solutions adhere to aerospace regulatory standards (ITAR/EAR) and enterprise data security protocols.
Deep understanding of value-realization modeling to justify technical expenditures.
Ability to quantify system utility and architectural trade-offs.
Engineering Ecosystems: Familiarity with PLM/CAD environments (e.g., Teamcenter, CATIA, Enovia) and their associated data structures.
Data & Analytics: Proficiency in SQL, Python for data manipulation, and visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI) for executive-level reporting.
Infrastructure: Understanding of cloud-hybrid architectures and secure, containerized environments necessary for sensitive aerospace data.
Strategic Roadmap: Define and maintain the vision for engineering platforms, aligning long-term architectural health with immediate business requirements.
Tactical Intervention: Lead hands-on resolution of technical bottlenecks that threaten engineering productivity or project timelines.
Executive Bridging: Act as the primary liaison between software development teams and design engineering departments to translate technical constraints into actionable business outcomes.
Value Realization: Implement a value-driven operating model to track and report on the ROI of technical infrastructure improvements.
Agile Proficiency: Comfortable working within an Agile/Scrum framework to deliver incremental value in a high-compliance aerospace environment.
Operational Rigor: Commitment to maintaining comprehensive architectural documentation and technical specifications that serve as the single source of truth.
Security Focus: Strict adherence to data privacy, ITAR/EAR compliance, and secure-by-design engineering practices.
Proven Delivery: A demonstrable track record of transforming complex engineering challenges into successful, high-value business outcomes through both strategy and execution.
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $48.54/hour - $75.85/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
