Job summary

Mativ is seeking a Technical Process Engineer to support the Whiting Mill production teams in Stevens Point. This on-site role focuses on safety, quality, and applying process improvements to meet customer needs and improve profitability.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in engineering and 3–5 years of process engineering experience in papermaking or related manufacturing, with Lean experience and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, paper science or related field.
• 3–5 years of Process Engineer experience in paper mill, coating, saturating or converting operations.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing environment and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to rotate weekends and travel within the facility.
• Strong leadership and communication skills within all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to mill production crews with safety and quality emphasis.
• Modify existing mill processes to improve quality and profitability.
• Improve process control and support new product development.
• Lead cost-optimization projects for savings through substitutions and efficiency gains.
• Coordinate process improvement trials and document results clearly.
• Assist in equipment evaluation and design modifications for better operations.
• Use mill information systems (ABB, Oracle) to analyze production trends and troubleshoot.
