Job summary

McKinley Paper’s Wisconsin Mill is seeking a Process Engineer to join the Technical Department. You will support daily operations, drive process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a historic mill within the Bio Pappel division. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, data analysis, and continuous improvement in a 100% recycled paperboard/paper bag environment, with engagement across Production,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Paper Science, or related field.
2–4 years of professional experience in a relevant industry.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Experience with production systems such as Pi, ParcView, and SAP is helpful.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including clear technical reports and presentations.
Ability to convey complex concepts to non-engineering staff.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Creativity and intellectual curiosity.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot daily production issues related to process, technical, and systems aspects.
Coordinate product development activities with Production, Sales, and Corporate teams.
Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Technical, and Process Control teams on equipment or process changes.
Collect and analyze process data using statistical methods to support improvements and trials.
Identify and trial new process materials with Production teams.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
Participate in cost reduction and continuous improvement projects.
Support weekend duty coverage as required.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
