McKinley Paper’s Wisconsin Mill is seeking a Process Engineer to join the Technical Department. You will support daily operations, drive process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a historic mill within the Bio Pappel division. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, data analysis, and continuous improvement in a 100% recycled paperboard/paper bag environment, with engagement across Production,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Paper Science, or related field.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in a relevant industry.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience with production systems such as Pi, ParcView, and SAP is helpful.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including clear technical reports and presentations.
• Ability to convey complex concepts to non-engineering staff.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Creativity and intellectual curiosity.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot daily production issues related to process, technical, and systems aspects.
• Coordinate product development activities with Production, Sales, and Corporate teams.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Technical, and Process Control teams on equipment or process changes.
• Collect and analyze process data using statistical methods to support improvements and trials.
• Identify and trial new process materials with Production teams.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
• Participate in cost reduction and continuous improvement projects.
• Support weekend duty coverage as required.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
