Job summary

Curries, an ASSA ABLOY company, is seeking a Technical Order Processing Specialist to join our Mason City, IA facility. You will interpret customer information and produce detailed orders that meet all specifications, drawings, and regulatory requirements.

You will create and revise drawings, resolve engineering issues, and support customers and manufacturing with technical guidance. A fast-paced team environment and overtime expectations are part of the role.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Business or related field preferred.
  • Associates degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, Mathematics or related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Door, Building Materials and/or Hollow Metal industries desirable.
  • Complex math and problem-solving skills, including algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to read and comprehend structural and architectural drawings.
  • Strong detailing principles of drawings knowledge preferred.
  • Exposure to reading schematics, blueprints, renderings or architectural drawings desirable.
  • Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, follow-up and sense of urgency.
  • Must excel in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret customer information to create fully detailed orders meeting requirements.
  • Interpret hardware templates and prepare drawings for manufacturing requirements.
  • Create and revise drawings using customer plans and elevations with correct dimensions.
  • Anticipate, question and resolve engineering issues prior to fabrication.
  • Communicate discrepancies and changes with customers per established protocol.
  • As a technical expert, provide product application and problem-solving support to manufacturing and customers.
  • Function well in a team environment; overtime may be required.

Curries (an ASSA ABLOY company) is expanding their Order Management Teams and is hiring a Technical Order Processing Specialist. This role will be based out of our manufacturing facility located in Mason City, IA.

What would you do as our Technical Order Processing Specialist?

As a Technical Order Processing Specialist, you will interpret customer-provided information and construct a fully detailed order satisfying customer, application, regulatory and manufacturing requirements. This includes interpreting product specifications and researching drawings.

You would also:
  • Perform all duties relating to the processing of customer orders with a high degree of accuracy (orders range from basic stock to highly configured).
  • Interpret hardware templates and prepared detailed drawings for manufacturing requirements.
  • Create and/or revise detailed drawings using customer plans and elevations, showing both section and detail views, with annotation and correct dimensions.
  • Anticipate, question and research areas of concern resolving any engineering issues prior to fabrication.
  • Communicate with customers on discrepancies and/or application conflicts. Document all information requests, clarifications, correspondence and changes using established protocol.
  • As a knowledgeable product technical expert, provide technical, product application and problem-solving support to manufacturing and customers.
  • Function well in a team environment in all areas of business.
  • Some overtime is required.
  • Perform otherduties as required.

The Skills and Experience you need
  • High School Diploma or GED / Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Business or a related field, preferred.
  • Associates degree or completion of a technical trade school in Computer Aided Drafting, mathematics or related field, strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience/exposure to working within the Door, Building Materials and/or Hollow Metal industriesare highly desirable.
  • Complex math and problem-solving skills required, including developed understanding of Algebra and Geometry.
  • Ability to read and comprehend structural and architectural drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of detailing principles of drawings preferred
  • Previous exposure to reading schematics, blueprints, renderings or architectural drawings is highly desirable.
