Job summary

WTVG is Toledo, Ohio's leading station, and Gray Media seeks a Technical Operations Manager to oversee our broadcast and master control operations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, capable of stepping in to perform TMP or MCO duties while directing the team and ensuring high-quality live broadcasts.

The role requires strong technical and managerial skills, including experience with automation systems, maintenance coordination, and FCC compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in television production or master control.
• Hands-on expertise with live-production automation systems.
• Ability to manage schedules and PTO.
• Strong problem-solving under live on-air pressures.
• FCC guidelines, EAS, and closed captioning knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and schedule operations staff.
• Train TMPs and MCOs.
• Maintain maintenance schedules for servers and software.
• Coordinate vendor support and troubleshooting.
• Oversee master control and production workflows.
