Job summary

Gray Media's WTVG in Toledo, Ohio is seeking a skilled Technical Media Producer to oversee live broadcasts and master control operations. This dual-capacity role combines technical control room expertise with newsroom collaboration to deliver accurate, FCC-compliant local news and programming.

You will operate Ross Overdrive, edit with Edius, monitor streams, and coordinate with editors, directors and anchors to maintain pacing, quality and reliability across all broadcasts.

Qualifications

• Experience in television production or live broadcasting is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with live production switchers, digital audio boards, robotic camera systems, broadcast automation systems, and master control equipment is preferred.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize under deadlines, and make split-second decisions in a fast-paced live environment.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with editorial, traffic, and engineering teams.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate Ross Overdrive control room and production switchers during live broadcasts.
• Edit daily lineups and segments using Edius under tight deadlines.
• Monitor OTA and digital streams for uninterrupted delivery; ingest and play out content.
• Manage programming logs, regional ad insertions, and emergency alert systems (EAS).
• Collaborate with producers, directors, and anchors to maintain pacing and quality.
• Perform pre-production tasks: graphics, lighting cues, mic checks, and script review.
• Troubleshoot studio and master control equipment with engineering to resolve issues.
