Job summary

Peraton in the Austin area seeks a Technical Manager with extensive infrastructure leadership to oversee Private Cloud, Network, Mainframe, and AI Platform initiatives for government services. You will align architecture standards with enterprise and security requirements, guiding multi-vendor collaborations and incident management.

The role requires on-site presence in Austin, strong executive communication, and a track record of governance across diverse technology domains within MSI

Qualifications

• 10 years of infrastructure architecture and technology leadership experience.
• Deep expertise in private cloud platforms, including VMware, Nutanix, or equivalent hyperconverged infrastructure.
• Hands-on data center infrastructure experience: compute, storage (SAN/NAS), tiered storage, server virtualization.
• Working knowledge of data center networking (MPLS, SDN, cloud connectivity).
• Familiarity with mainframe operations (z/OS or equivalent) from an architectural view.
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure platforms or cloud-hosted AI services.
• Ability to govern enterprise technology standards and reference architectures.
• Experience operating in multi-vendor government IT/MSI environments.
• Strong cross-domain technical leadership and executive communication skills.
• Ability to credibly represent multiple technology domains to senior government stakeholders.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain agency clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single point of accountability to theDIR for performance and incident management across technology domains.
• Provide technology planning, optimization, service evolution, and innovation for Private Cloud, Network, Mainframe, and AI Platform (if implemented).
• Govern the Infrastructure Reference Architecture: quarterly updates, CMDB integration, standard products list management.
• Monitor for nonstandard product introductions and guide governance decisions.
• Coordinate with Security Director on threat remediation and security posture.
• Manage infrastructure currency, keeping systems within one major release of current version.
• Provide technical leadership and governance across all infrastructure domains.
• Ensure technology decisions align with enterprise architecture, service requirements, security, and contracts.
• Provide cross-domain leadership in a complex multi-vendor/MSI government IT environment.

Peraton is seeking for a Technical Managerwho will have overall accountability fortechnology planning, optimization, service evolution, and innovation of Services.The Technical Manager will serve as the single point of accountability for DIR concerning performance and Incident management of DIR's and Successful Respondent's technology, including Private Cloud, Network, Mainframe, and AI Platform if implemented.

Candidates must currently reside in the Austin metropolitan area or nearby,or be willing and able to relocate to Austin, TX. This is an on-site position.
