Job summary

Laserfiche in Long Beach, CA seeks a Technical Manager to lead our Solution Engineering team while staying hands-on. You will review designs, write code, and guide engineers to deliver sound solutions across complex integrations and AI-driven builds.

You will partner with project managers and customers, manage delivery health, and push for efficient, defensible approaches. Hybrid schedule with in-office days in Long Beach and remote work on other days.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of technical experience in customer-facing roles, including leading engineers or delivery teams.
• 8+ years of hands-on coding with proficiency in core languages and modern paradigms.
• Demonstrable code judgment in unfamiliar code and system design.
• Track record of solving problems with non-obvious solutions and tradeoffs.
• Experience in a billable services or consulting environment with utilization and margin awareness.
• 4-year degree or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Review team work: code, configurations, and solution designs for quality.
• Write code yourself: prototypes, integrations, scripts, or escalations.
• Know the details of languages and platforms used by the team.
• Address AI outputs critically and prevent hallucinated APIs from reaching customers.
• Solve problems without documented paths and communicate costs and risks of workarounds.
• Turn successful approaches into standard practice for the team.
