Job summary

The Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC), managed and operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies, is a premier advanced manufacturing facility that supports the safety, security, reliability and effectiveness of our nation's nuclear deterrent.

The Technical Manager role is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and managing the overall activities of a technical work unit or team consisting of engineers and/or other qualified individuals.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree or physics/physical science degree.
• 7+ years of engineering or related technical experience.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to work on-site as directed by management.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develops vision and strategy to assign work to support mission objectives.
• Provides leadership for staff development and holds team members accountable.
• Develops staffing plans, budgets and equipment requirements.
• Ensures adequate support services through internal and external teamwork.
• Implements business practices and metrics to assure quality of products and services.
• Directly supervises employees and handles hiring, training and performance evaluation.
• Drives people strategy initiatives to improve development, engagement and retention.
• Flows information from Sr. Leadership to staff and escalates issues when needed.
