Mueller Water Products is seeking a Technical Manager for Knife Gate Valve Products. The role focuses on driving demand through reps, distributors, and direct channels, while serving as the technical resource for the product line.

Collaboration with sales teams and engineers is essential to secure specifications. The position emphasizes writing specs, hosting training events, and expanding brand awareness across the USA and Canada.

Qualifications

• 3+ years technical or outside sales experience in water, wastewater, or industrial markets.
• Must live near a major airport.
• CRM software experience (Salesforce).
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to travel about 60% (roughly 3 days/week).
• Ability to cover large U.S./Canada region.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and public speaking skills.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs during demonstrations.

Responsibilities

• Call on end users and engineers to promote product lines and secure favorable specifications.
• Provide technical application assistance and quotations, training, and support.
• Maintain market channels, inventory, and delivery issue resolution.
• Deliver product training to users, engineers, and distributors.
• Develop relationships with key customers and engineers to grow demand.
• Set sales goals and specification objectives to meet targets.
• Identify bid opportunities and provide project details and pricing strategies.
• Give competitive feedback and participate in industry trade organizations.
• Maintain end-user database for the territory and assist with monthly forecasts.
