Product Engineer – Water Systems & Valves

Job summary

Mueller Water Products is seeking a Product Engineer for our Kimball, TN facility to configure components and meet customer requirements for butterfly, ball, knife gate, water control gates and valves.

You will generate drawings in SolidWorks/Creo/AutoCAD, create BOMs, and provide shop floor engineering support. The role collaborates with manufacturing, service, and sales, driving improvements and cost savings across the product life cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical degree (or 10+ years of experience).
• Experience with 2D/3D CAD, PLM and ERP systems.
• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge.
• Willingness to travel for training.

Responsibilities

• Provide SolidWorks, or Creo & AutoCAD working drawings according to requirements.
• Generate Bill of Materials, and Process Sheets for assigned product lines.
• Provide shop floor engineering support for assigned product lines, implementing improvements to better meet customer and company needs.
• Coordinate all activities with approval agencies for new or modified products, as well as the associated follow-up activities.
• Work with internal and external customers, such as manufacturing personnel, customer service, and the sales force to provide product support on problems related to products, processes, application, and installation of products.
• Identify, document, and present cost savings ideas with justification and ROI calculations.
