Job summary

3Pillar Global, Inc. is seeking a Technical Lead for the Telemetry Platform (Go) to guide a Go-based edge telemetry system in a large-scale data center client.

You will own the ingestion path, back-pressure, high-cardinality data, and edge failure isolation while collaborating with DCIM stakeholders to shape platform capabilities. Remote-first team culture, global collaboration, and emphasis on security, performance, and reliability accompany strong mentoring and knowledge-sharing across

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production Go at scale.
  • Hands-on experience with IoT and OT telemetry protocols: SNMP, gNMI or other streaming telemetry, NETCONF, syslog, and MQTT.
  • Demonstrated experience running time-series data at scale in InfluxDB or an equivalent platform, including retention, downsampling, and cardinality management.
  • Experience with edge and constrained-runtime deployment, where memory, CPU, and network are limited and failures are expected.
  • Kubernetes at production scale, plus observability practice: metrics, tracing, structured logging, and alerting you designed yourself.
  • Experience designing high-volume ingest pipelines, including back-pressure, buffering, retry semantics, and graceful degradation.
  • Experience leading Agile software development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience following and adapting high-level architecture to project and client needs, and the ability to verify and validate architecture implementations.
  • High level of English proficiency required to interact with a globally-based development team and client stakeholders.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Independently guide the technical direction and implementation by the whole team within defined architecture, in all stages from conceptualization to deployment.
  • Own the production hardening of the edge telemetry platform coming out of proof of concept: back-pressure handling, high-cardinality management, resiliency, and failure isolation.
  • Design and evolve the device polling and ingest layer across IoT and OT telemetry protocols, and the write path into time-series storage at scale.
  • Evaluate trade-offs between correctness, robustness, performance, and customer impact to ensure the development of the right solution, with client success at the forefront.
  • Serve as the primary technical counterpart to the client's DCIM and infrastructure stakeholders, translating operational requirements into platform capability.
  • Partner with the Data Services technical lead on the contract at the boundary between ingest and downstream exposure, so the two pods evolve independently without breaking each other.
  • Create and lead the team's technical documentation and repository management practices, including tasks such as creating branches, pull requests, merges, and release process.
  • Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and addressing complex bug fixes with a focus on security, performance, and reliability.
  • Participate in and lead knowledge transfer from the outgoing delivery team, then support the ramp up of the engineers behind you.

Job Description

Technical Lead, Telemetry Platform (Go)

3Pillar warmly extends an invitation for you to join an elite team of visionaries. Beyond software development, we are dedicated to engineering solutions that challenge conventional norms. In this role you will lead the team that owns a Go-based edge telemetry platform for a large-scale data center infrastructure client, taking a proven proof of concept and hardening it into a production system that polls thousands of devices and streams high-volume time-series data into the platform behind it.

This role transcends the ordinary realms of coding; it is about orchestrating technological marvels that disrupt industries. You will set the technical direction for the ingest side of the platform, own the hard problems of back-pressure, high-cardinality data and failure isolation at the edge, and work directly with the client's DCIM stakeholders to shape what gets built.

Key Responsibilities:

Independently guide the technical direction and implementation by the whole team within defined architecture, in all stages from conceptualization to deployment.

Own the production hardening of the edge telemetry platform coming out of proof of concept: back-pressure handling, high-cardinality management, resiliency, and failure isolation.

Design and evolve the device polling and ingest layer across IoT and OT telemetry protocols, and the write path into time-series storage at scale.

Evaluate trade-offs between correctness, robustness, performance, and customer impact to ensure the development of the right solution, with client success at the forefront.

Serve as the primary technical counterpart to the client's DCIM and infrastructure stakeholders, translating operational requirements into platform capability.

Partner with the Data Services technical lead on the contract at the boundary between ingest and downstream exposure, so the two pods evolve independently without breaking each other.

Create and lead the team's technical documentation and repository management practices, including tasks such as creating branches, pull requests, merges, and release process.

Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and addressing complex bug fixes with a focus on security, performance, and reliability.

Participate in and lead knowledge transfer from the outgoing delivery team, then support the ramp up of the engineers behind you.

Be an active leader in the Engineering Practice community, mentoring Senior Engineers and others through Communities of Practice (CoPs) or on project teams, supporting the growth of technical capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

A minimum of 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production Go at scale.

Hands-on experience with IoT and OT telemetry protocols: SNMP, gNMI or other streaming telemetry, NETCONF, syslog, and MQTT.

Demonstrated experience running time-series data at scale in InfluxDB or an equivalent platform, including retention, downsampling, and cardinality management.

Experience with edge and constrained-runtime deployment, where memory, CPU, and network are limited and failures are expected.

Kubernetes at production scale, plus observability practice: metrics, tracing, structured logging, and alerting you designed yourself.

Experience designing high-volume ingest pipelines, including back-pressure, buffering, retry semantics, and graceful degradation.

Experience leading Agile software development methodologies.

Demonstrated experience following and adapting high-level architecture to project and client needs, and the ability to verify and validate architecture implementations.

High-level design proficiency following UML / C4 / ArchiMate.

Very good knowledge of architectural styles and design patterns, SOLID principles, and OWASP.

Demonstrated initiative in mentoring other engineers and decision-makers throughout the organization.

High level of English proficiency required to interact with a globally-based development team and client stakeholders.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Additional Experience Desired:

Prior experience in data center, DCIM, industrial, or critical-infrastructure monitoring environments.

Python for tooling, data work, and operational scripting.

Ability to set technical strategy and direct implementation across several teams or a whole product.

Experience building CI/CD pipelines and cloud native applications.

Experience decomposing or replacing an existing system while keeping it running.

Ability to refine and clarify technical details, including definition of done, based on internal or external product ownership for user stories and task assignments.
