Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Technical Lead for the API Platform team to guide a group of engineers in building scalable, reliable service infrastructure. You will drive architecture, partner with product engineering, and advance SOA adoption across Stripe’s systems, while mentoring engineers and delivering high-impact results.

You’ll work with diverse teams to design, implement, and operate infrastructure products for internal and external customers, maintaining performance and defining the long-term

Qualifications

• 12+ years of technical experience.
• 5+ years in a strategic technical leadership role.
• Experience leading engineering teams on API design, abstractions, frameworks, or client libraries.
• Hands-on experience building infrastructure and products for internal or external customers.
• Proven track record of pragmatic solutions that accelerate business growth.
• Proficient in at least one of Java, Ruby, Python, Go.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers, providing mentorship and support to ensure success.
• Partner with Engineering Managers to create roadmaps and drive milestones.
• Understand user needs to prioritize engineering work and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Oversee the full development lifecycle with high standards of quality and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with leaders to advance Stripe's services roadmap and SOA adoption.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership for architecture, design, and incident response processes.
