Job summary

Stripe is seeking a senior technical leader for Money Movement to drive the technical roadmap and architecture for global money movement systems. You will work across core financial APIs, balances, transfers, payouts, and infrastructure to ensure scalable, reliable, and cost-effective delivery at a large scale.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural discussions with multiple teams, and own critical features end-to-end in a distributed, hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industry software engineering experience, at staff or equivalent scope.
• Proven track record designing and shipping large-scale distributed systems with high availability and financial correctness.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects end-to-end.
• Strong API design instincts for developer-friendly interfaces over complex financial/regulatory requirements.
• Ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams without direct authority.
• High ownership mindset and comfort with ambiguity; able to define problems and plans.
• Clear, precise communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Scope, design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and large-scale systems handling billions of money movement requests.
• Debug and solve critical production issues; mentor engineers to grow.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to build features at scale while improving standards, tooling, and processes.
• Collaborate effectively in distributed, hybrid teams with open communication.
