Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Software Development Lead for the OnVUE team to provide technical leadership across one or more squads responsible for the remote proctoring platform. You will guide design, implementation, and delivery of scalable software while mentoring engineers and promoting engineering excellence.

You will partner with Product, QA, and DevOps to deliver secure, reliable solutions, with emphasis on cloud-native architectures and modern development practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of technical leadership or lead developer experience.
• Strong experience designing and implementing distributed systems.
• Experience leading Agile engineering teams.
• Experience working within cloud-native environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for one or more product development squads delivering OnVUE platform features.
• Lead design sessions, code reviews, and architecture discussions to ensure quality and scalability.
• Mentor engineers, promote engineering best practices, and drive DevOps/CI-CD improvements.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, reliable solutions.
• Support platform modernization and technical debt reduction initiatives.
