Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Staff Systems Engineer to lead sensor architecture for EOIR programs, coordinating across program teams and customers to solve complex challenges. The role focuses on passive and active sensing, data processing, and real-time analysis in a DoD environment.

You will mentor junior staff, define architectures for IRAD/CRAD, and work with SMEs to meet customer needs. This is an on-site Linthicum, MD position with potential SAP access and DoD clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience, Master’s degree with 10 years, or Ph.D. with 8 years; an additional 4 years may substitute for a degree.
• Experience in technical computing languages (Python or MATLAB).
• Experience leading teams with successful customer interactions.

Responsibilities

• Define architectures and lead implementations for IRAD, CRAD, and execution programs.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
• Design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy novel EOIR sensors.
• Build and maintain physics-based sensor models.
• Develop and quantify performance metrics for system performance.
• Understand data quality and artifact impacts.
• Represent system performance in functional and analytical models.
