Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Linthicum, MD, seeks a Senior Staff Systems Engineer to lead EO/IR algorithm development and sensor modeling on-site. You will guide a diverse team of engineers, physicists, and AI/ML specialists, and engage with customers to define roadmaps and R&D plans.

Ideal candidates have a background in airborne/space EOIR sensing, demonstrated leadership of technical teams, and strong skills in Python or Matlab. This is a 100% on-site role with relocation potential and clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM with 14+ yrs, or Master’s with 12+, or PhD with 10+ yrs.
• U.S. Citizenship required; active Secret Clearance.
• Experience leading teams and customer interactions; proficient in Python or Matlab.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical execution of R&D programs.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Develop, integrate, test, and deploy EOIR-centric algorithms.
• Build and maintain physics-based sensor models.
• Develop and quantify performance metrics for system performance.
• Understand data quality and artifact impacts.
• Represent system performance in functional and analytical models.
