Job summary

BrainWorks is seeking a Technical Lead to guide architecture for a new telemetry platform on a large-scale data center client. The role focuses on evolving Python services while steering .NET as the future development platform.

Remote role with global scope, direct hire with salary and bonus. You will mentor engineers, drive API/telemetry contracts, and shape CI/CD practices for high-performance, secure systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with production depth in .NET and Python.
• Experience decomposing systems into services, including strangler-style migrations.
• Hands-on ServiceNow and CMDB integration experience.
• Caching strategy and lightweight data store design (Redis or equivalent).
• Strong data modeling across relational and time-series data.
• API and telemetry design at scale with versioning and contracts.
• Kubernetes at scale and observability practices.
• Experience leading Agile software development.
• High-level design with UML / C4 / ArchiMate.
• Solid knowledge of architectural styles, SOLID, and OWASP.

Responsibilities

• Guide technical direction and implementation from concept to deployment.
• Own the target architecture for data services and APIs.
• Lead decomposition of existing systems into services; evolve .NET for new work.
• Define caching strategy and fast read-paths at ingest rate.
• Design API and telemetry contracts with versioning and compatibility.
• Balance correctness, robustness, performance, and customer impact.
• Partner with Telemetry lead to evolve ingest and exposure boundaries.
• Create and lead technical documentation and repo management practices.
• Contribute to code reviews and secure, reliable bug fixes.
• Lead knowledge transfer and ramp-up for engineers joining the team.
• Be an active engineering leader in Practice Communities.
