Job summary

General Motors seeks a Technical Lead Manager to architect sensing-system evaluation for autonomous driving programs. You will steer camera/LiDAR/RADAR integrations into simulation, define targets for large-scale experiments, and drive data-driven decisions across software and hardware teams.

You will mentor engineers, shape tooling, and ensure robust, scalable sensor evaluation pipelines, while reporting to leadership on progress and risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, mathematics, or related field.
• Ten+ years of progressive software/systems engineering experience in relevant domains.
• Minimum 1 year of experience leading a small team of engineers.
• Experience leading cross-disciplinary technical initiatives spanning software, hardware, data, and systems teams.
• Experience designing or integrating simulation, evaluation, validation, or data-processing systems for autonomy or safety-critical domains.
• Strong programming ability in C++ and Python, production-grade software, debugging, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for sensing-system evaluation frameworks across driving conditions.
• Lead integration of camera, LiDAR, RADAR, and sensor models into simulation environments.
• Define fidelity, performance, and usability targets for large-scale experiments.
• Build statistical and empirical methods to complement physics-based analysis.
• Generate and manage synthetic data from road-data replay, simulation, and scenario-generation pipelines.
• Design data augmentation and scenario coverage for challenging conditions (night, rain, snow, fog, occlusion).
• Mentor engineers, lead reviews, and ensure delivery with high quality.
