Job summary

General Motors' AV Simulation team seeks a Technical Lead for the Galileo project to build and optimize the testing and evaluation infrastructure for vehicle releases and autonomous driving stack validation. You will design scalable data pipelines and influence the technical vision across the team.

You will drive software engineering best practices, mentor engineers, and collaborate with teams to accelerate safe, reliable AV software development in a fast-paced, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated track record of building high quality software and a customer-centric mindset.
• Broad exposure to end-to-end product engineering stack from frontend to infrastructure.
• Experience with SOA or microservices, large-scale distributed systems, and cloud platforms like AWS/GCP.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Self-motivation and passion to lead, mentor, and promote best practices.
• Familiarity with Python, Go, Node, React or similar web frameworks.
• PostgreSQL and data warehouse tech like BigQuery or Redshift.
• Passion for self-driving technology and its impact.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical architect and define the technical vision for your team.
• Design systems capable of simulating millions of miles of driving daily.
• Improve and deliver reliable software via CI, automated testing, and code reviews.
• Drive engineering best practices and build tools for company-wide use.
• Develop and mentor engineers in a fast-paced, inclusive setting.
• Help define GM engineering culture and principles.
