Job summary

The Heavy Vehicle Technical Officer at Government Recruitment Service plays a key role in assessing complex heavy vehicle applications and ensuring compliance with UK statutory testing, ECWVTA and DVSA standards. Qualifications

• Process technical applications ensuring full assessment and compliant documentation.
• Respond to technical queries from non-technical teams and advise frontline staff.
• Work with standards, legal and technical assessments to support DVSA objectives.

Responsibilities

• Assess heavy vehicle test applications for first tests and conversions.
• Review ECWVTA applications for approved vehicles.
• Provide technical support to non-technical teams and advise frontline staff.
• Investigate solutions to mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Policy Team on new standards.
• Communicate with customers to clarify requirements via the technical inbox.
• Support Heavy Vehicle Processing Manager and represent DVSA at trade events.
• Maintain relevant databases as required.
