Job summary

Qualified Health is hiring a Technical Lead Applied AI Engineer to set the technical vision for agentic AI systems across the product portfolio. You will shape long-term infrastructure strategy, represent engineering in leadership decisions, and define production-grade AI governance at QH.

You will still code and tackle hard problems, but your impact comes from standards, systems, and people you guide across teams.

Qualifications

Deep software engineering foundation with Python; production-grade systems experience.
8+ years building production software; 4+ years AI-powered/LLM-driven production apps.
Proven experience setting technical direction across multiple teams.
Deep expertise in MLOps, model deployment, and workflow automation.
Ability to operate autonomously on high-stakes technical problems.
Strong track record influencing leadership-level decisions.

Responsibilities

Define multi-year technical strategy and architecture for agentic workflow infrastructure across the product portfolio.
Represent Applied AI engineering in leadership decisions on product direction and platform investment.
Set engineering standards for LLM evaluation, deployment, safety, and monitoring.
Act as technical escalation point for hardest problems across product lines.
Mentor and develop Staff-level engineers; shape the technical career ladder.
Evaluate emerging models and techniques and assess adoption at scale.
Partner with founders on how AI infrastructure investments tie to company strategy.
