Job summary

Claritev seeks a Lead AI Engineer to own hands-on development and production delivery of advanced AI systems powering our healthcare products. You will build predictive, generative, and agentic AI solutions, ensuring security, reliability, and measurable outcomes.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, AI Science, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable designs, mentor engineers, and drive delivery from prototype through production in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, a quantitative discipline, or a related field required.
• Master's degree or PhD preferred.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, applied AI, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience building and delivering production-grade ML or AI systems.
• 2+ years of experience building with generative AI, LLMs, RAG, and/or agentic AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and operate production AI applications and services within established architectures and platform standards.
• Implement agentic AI systems with tool use, orchestration, memory, and guardrails.
• Build reliable RAG and knowledge-retrieval capabilities using embeddings and vector databases.
• Develop evaluation harnesses and observability for AI systems (accuracy, reliability, latency, cost).
• Implement guardrails and human oversight for agent behavior in production.
• Drive end-to-end delivery from prototype to production with enterprise integrations.
• Collaborate with Product and AI Science to translate requirements into designs and measurable outcomes.
• Ensure secure and compliant use of AI (PHI/PII, HIPAA).
• Lead technical execution of features; conduct reviews and uphold engineering quality.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence.
