IHCS is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to own the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of agentic AI systems that augment our core home care benefits management. You will code hands-on while growing a small engineering team, shaping technical direction and architecture.

You are energized by solving complex healthcare-related business challenges with automation and AI, delivering production-ready solutions with measurable value.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering delivering and maintaining production systems.
• 1+ years building and deploying live LLM-powered or agentic systems.
• Experience evaluating multiple LLM providers/models for a use case (accuracy, cost, latency).
• Experience transforming data for model consumption (OCR/text extraction, markdown conversion, chunking, summarization).
• Strong experience with AWS.
• Experience working in regulated industries (PHI handling, BAAs).
• Some experience mentoring or leading other engineers.
