Qualified Health is hiring a Technical Lead Applied AI Engineer to set the technical vision for agentic AI systems across the product portfolio. You will shape multi-year infrastructure strategy and drive production-grade AI initiatives, while still coding and solving hard problems.

You will influence leadership decisions on platform investments, build-vs-buy choices, and safety standards, mentoring Staff engineers and defining the career ladder for applied AI roles at QH.

Qualifications

• Deep Python-based software engineering foundation with scalable systems.
• 8+ years building production software; 4+ years AI-powered/LLM-driven apps in production.
• Experience setting technical direction across multiple teams, not just a single product line.
• Deep expertise in MLOps, model deployment, and workflow automation.
• Ability to operate with full autonomy on ambiguous, high-stakes technical problems.
• Proven track record influencing technical decisions at leadership level.

Responsibilities

• Define the multi-year technical strategy and architecture for agentic workflow infrastructure for the full product portfolio.
• Represent applied AI engineering in leadership decisions on product direction, build-vs-buy, and platform investment.
• Set org-wide engineering standards for LLM evaluation, deployment, safety, and monitoring.
• Act as a technical escalation point for the hardest, highest-ambiguity problems across product lines.
• Mentor Staff-level engineers; help shape the technical career ladder for applied AI roles.
• Evaluate emerging models/frameworks and decide what to adopt at QH.
