Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, align solutions with IT standards, and deliver stable enterprise systems. You will mentor teams, craft software design, and contribute to architectural decisions while collaborating with architects and business users to meet critical objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of software development experience.
• 3 years of database technologies experience.
• 5 years of SDLC project experience.
• 3 years of systems analysis and high level design.
• Experience in RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, APIs design and implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation on business requirements and functional specifications; supports project lifecycle with leadership input.
• Reviews development or modification of highly complex, enterprise-level software solutions.
• 50/50 role: design/mentorship/leadership and hands-on coding delivery.
• Develops and validates highly complex software design prototypes aligned with standards.
• Contributes to technical direction for design and coding of component-based applications.
• Ensures requirements, design, and test scripts are documented for enhancements.
• Mentors others, sharing knowledge of company methodologies and controls.
