Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, align solutions with business processes, and deliver enterprise software. You will mentor teams while also delivering code and ensuring architectural standards are met.

The role emphasizes collaboration with architects, developers, business users, and delivery managers to drive project success and maintain system integrity across our enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in database technologies.
• 5 years of experience on SDLC projects.
• 3 years of experience in systems analysis, defining technical requirements and high-level design.
• Experience with RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, APIs design and implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation on business requirements and functional specs; support high-level design.
• Review development or modification of enterprise software solutions.
• Balance design/mentorship with hands-on delivery of code.
• Develop and validate complex software designs adhering to architecture standards.
• Provide input on options, risks, costs, and benefits for software designs.
