Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a senior Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, design complex enterprise solutions, and deliver high-quality code. The role blends architecture and hands-on development, mentoring, and collaboration with architects, developers, and business users.

The position emphasizes adherence to IT standards, strong communication, and leadership to drive project success across the OD environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in database technologies.
• 5 years of experience on projects involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC).
• 3 years of experience in systems analysis, including defining technical requirements and performing high level design for complex solutions.
• Experience in programming and software development including but not limited to RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, APIs design and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation on business requirements and functional specifications in logical program designs, code modules, application systems, and software solutions; facilitates the transition to high level design.
• Reviews the development or modification of highly complex, enterprise level software solutions.
• 50/50 role with 50% design/mentorship/leadership and 50% hands on delivery of code.
• Develops and validates highly complex software design prototypes, ensuring software designs adhere to company architecture standards.
• Contributes to and leverages the technical direction for the development, configuration, or modification of integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions.
• Ensure related detailed functional and/or technical requirements, design, and test scripts are documented for all enhancements.
