Job Title

Pay Range

$21.25 - $24.34/hr

Work Type

Onsite, Monday-Friday (Rotational Saturdays), 09:00 PM - 05:30 AM

Basic Purpose

• The Technical Lab Assistant performs various routine laboratory functions accurately to assist laboratory staff and facilitate production.

Job Requirements

• Sorting and receiving specimens.
• Performing routine instrument maintenance.
• Handling laboratory tasks such as centrifuging, labeling, data recording, and specimen storage and retrieval.
• Preparing reagents and media.
• Preparing specimens for testing, including building worklists, aliquoting, checking for clots, inoculation, and slide preparation.
• Performing QA/QC duties.
• Resolving pending lists and locating missing samples.
• Decontaminating work areas and performing weekly radioactive wipe tests.
• Maintaining department records and changing gas cylinders.
• Following PPE and safety regulations.
• Using laboratory computer systems and operating PCs.
• Disposing of biohazardous materials.
• Completing training and competency checklists.

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical assistant training is helpful.
• Preferred courses in math and science.

Work Experience

• None required.
