Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Manager, Technical Inside Sales to lead the Appleton Group’s technical inside sales team supporting Engineered-to-Order products. You will develop talent, set performance expectations, and drive improvements across quotation development, order execution, and customer support.

You will partner with Engineering, Pricing, Manufacturing, Product Management, Customer Care, and Supply Chain to deliver technically sound solutions while improving efficiency and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Technical Sales, or related field (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of experience in Technical Inside Sales, Quotations, Customer Service, Engineering Support, or related technical commercial role.
• Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, or developing employees or cross-functional teams.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex engineered products and customer applications.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational and commercial performance by establishing and monitoring KPIs, improving quote turnaround time, quotation quality, order execution, productivity, customer satisfaction, and service levels.
• Ensure delivery of accurate, timely, and competitive technical solutions by maintaining compliance with customer specifications, company policies, and industry standards throughout quotation and order lifecycle.
• Partner cross-functionally to resolve complex technical, commercial, and operational challenges with Engineering, Pricing, Manufacturing, Product Management, Customer Care, Supply Chain, and Outside Sales.
• Drive process improvement by standardizing workflows, leveraging business systems, improving data integrity, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to increase scalability.
• Provide actionable business insights and support strategic initiatives through dashboards, reporting, forecasting, and analysis with leadership on organizational change and growth.
