Job summary

Verto People Ltd. seeks an Inside Sales Representative in Pleasanton, CA to support outside sales with technical enquiries, create accurate quotations, and respond to RFQs for valve, actuator and flow control solutions.

You will review drawings and customer specs, liaise with manufacturers for pricing, and provide pre-sales technical support to ensure timely, precise proposals and happy customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in valves, actuators or related industrial equipment.
• Experience producing quotations and responding to RFQs in a technical/industrial environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and datasheets.
• Strong technical aptitude to understand customer applications and engineered products.

Responsibilities

• Support outside sales with technical enquiries, quotations, pricing and customer requirements.
• Review RFQs and determine appropriate products and solutions based on application.
• Specify valves, actuators, pneumatics, and related equipment with customers.
• Prepare detailed quotations using customer specs and drawings.
• Review blueprints and datasheets to identify product requirements.
• Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers for pricing, lead times, and info.
• Provide pre-sales technical support to customers and external sales teams.
• Generate and review RFQ analyses and communicate technical/commercial info clearly.
• Ensure quotations and proposals are completed accurately and on time.
• Support customers and internal teams with troubleshooting to avoid delays.
• Maintain regular communication on quotations, orders, project status and updates.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, operations and customer service to ensure order delivery.

Job description

An Inside Sales Representative is required to support a leading valve and flow control manufacturer based in Pleasanton, California. This is a technical, customer-focused position responsible for supporting outside sales, responding to RFQs, preparing quotations, and helping customers specify the correct valve automation, actuator, pneumatic, and related flow control solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience within valves, actuators, valve automation, pneumatics, instrumentation, electrical components, or related industrial equipment. They will be comfortable reviewing technical drawings, understanding customer applications, producing accurate quotations, and working closely with customers, suppliers, and external sales teams.

Candidates will need to reside in or within commuting distance of Pleasanton, California.

Role for Inside Sales Representative:

• Support outside sales representatives with technical enquiries, quotations, pricing, and customer requirements.
• Review customer RFQs and determine appropriate products and solutions based on application requirements.
• Work with customers to specify valves, actuators, pneumatics, valve automation, electrical components, and associated equipment.
• Prepare detailed and accurate quotations using customer specifications, technical drawings, and application information.
• Review blueprints, schematics, datasheets, and technical drawings to identify product requirements.
• Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain pricing, lead times, and technical information.
• Provide pre-sales technical support to customers and external sales teams.
• Generate and review RFQ analysis and communicate technical and commercial information clearly to customers.
• Ensure quotations, technical documentation, and proposals are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
• Support customers and internal teams with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that may delay order completion.
• Maintain regular communication with customers regarding quotations, orders, project status, and technical updates.
• Work closely with sales, engineering, operations, and customer service teams to support successful order delivery.

Requirements for Inside Sales Representative:

• Previous experience within valves, actuators, valve automation, pneumatics, electrical components, instrumentation, flow control, or related industrial equipment.
• Experience producing quotations and responding to RFQs within a technical or industrial environment.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand customer applications and engineered products.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, datasheets, and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical and commercial proposals.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and ERP software.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Based in or near Pleasanton, California.

Preferred Candidate Background:

Candidates may come from an Inside Sales Representative, Applications Engineer, Technical Sales Support, Inside Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer, Quotations Specialist, Application Specialist or similar position.

Ideal candidates will have experience with companies involved in Valves, Actuation, Valve automation, Pneumatics, Instrumentation, Flow control, Process equipment, Industrial automation, Pumps or related engineered industrial products.
