Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Technical Engineer to help plan and repair military construction projects, from airstrips to roads and barracks. You will learn surveying, drafting, and construction planning to support both allied civilian opportunities.

Training includes Basic and Advanced Individual Training, with paid instruction and tuition assistance; you will gain hands-on experience with CAD, maps, and photomaps while earning a paycheck and serving your state and nation.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting aerial photos and maps.
• Ability to convert ideas into drawings and CAD drawings.
• Interest in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Willingness to learn Civil/Construction drafting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Draw topographic maps and charts using Computer Aided Drafting systems and software
• Conduct geodetic and construction surveys and results utilizing Automated Integrated Survey Instruments and Global Positioning Survey Technology
• Provide technical support for vertical and horizontal construction projects
