Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Technical Engineer to help plan and execute construction projects such as airstrips, docks, barracks, roads, and more. You will learn surveying, drafting, and construction plan development, with hands-on training and paid instruction.

Training lasts 10 weeks of Basic Training and 17 weeks of Advanced Individual Training; you will work with CAD software and surveying tools while earning a paycheck and access to tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Experience in drafting or map interpretation is beneficial.
• Familiarity with CAD systems and drafting standards.
• Interest in math, geometry, and surveying principles.

Responsibilities

• Draw topographic maps and charts using CAD systems and software.
• Conduct geodetic and construction surveys using survey instruments and GPS technology.
• Provide technical support for vertical and horizontal construction projects.
