Job summary

DC Army National Guard in Rutland, VT seeks a Technical Engineer to plan and oversee construction projects such as airstrips, docks, barracks, roads, and other facilities. You will study plans, draft specifications, and support surveys and maps.

Training includes basic Soldiering and Advanced Individual Training; you can earn while you learn with tuition assistance. Opportunities to pursue civilian construction and engineering roles are available.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Draw topographic maps and charts using CAD tools.
• Conduct geodetic and construction surveys and results using survey instruments and GPS.
• Provide technical support for vertical and horizontal construction projects.
