Job summary

Stantec seeks a detail-oriented Technical Editor to join the Environmental Services Document Support team. You will edit technical reports, proposals, and publications for grammar, clarity, and consistent voice, and format deliverables using Word styles to meet standards. You will also remediate PDFs for Section 508 accessibility.

The role requires editing diverse environmental documents, supporting project managers, and ensuring timely delivery across multiple projects and clients nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a writing-focused field and at least 3 years editorial experience; master's preferred.
• Familiarity with U.S. accessibility compliance (Section 508) and CommonLook software.
• Experience with Chicago and APA style guides and client-specific guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review reports, publications, proposals, and correspondence for grammar and consistency.
• Edit technical documents including NEPA studies and environmental reports.
• Assist with proposals and business development materials (memos, slides, emails).
• Remediate public-facing documents for 508 accessibility using CommonLook.
• Provide editing support to project managers and ensure consistency across clients.
• Oversee quality control, production, and distribution of documents per schedule.
