Job summary

Sora Resource Group seeks a Technical Designer in New York, NY on-site to join a women's apparel team. You will develop precise tech packs, oversee fit sessions, and collaborate with design, production, and vendors to ensure quality and constructability.

You will manage BOMs, material specs, grading details, and packaging requirements while maintaining brand integrity and pushing for performance, durability, and fit across styles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or related field.
• 3–5 years of Technical Design experience in apparel.
• Experience with women's apparel; outerwear/activewear preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed tech packs, including measurements, grading, construction details, and specs.
• Create and manage BOMs, packaging requirements, care labels, carton markings, and related docs.
• Conduct and participate in fit sessions using live models.
• Analyze fit and communicate comments to vendors and internal teams to improve fit and construction.
• Review prototypes and pre-production garments with pattern makers and manufacturers.
• Ensure samples meet standards for fit, quality, and design intent prior to production.
• Identify development challenges and propose practical manufacturing solutions.
• Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Production, and external partners to ensure timely, high-quality execution.
