Job summary

Workforce Recruiter is seeking a Technical Designer to join its apparel team in New York City. You will develop precise tech packs, oversee BOMs, and lead fit sessions to ensure quality and consistency from concept to production.

You will collaborate with Design, Product Development, and manufacturing partners, balancing aesthetics, functionality, and cost while maintaining brand standards and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or related field.
• 3–5 years of Technical Design experience in apparel.
• Experience with women's apparel; outerwear/activewear preferred.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and CAD software.
• Strong garment construction, grading, and fit evaluation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed tech packs, including sketches, measurements, grading, construction details, and specifications.
• Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), packaging requirements, care/content labels, carton markings, and related documentation.
• Conduct and participate in fit sessions using live models.
• Analyze fit and communicate comments to vendors and teams to achieve the desired fit and durability.
• Review prototypes and pre-production garments with pattern makers and manufacturers.
• Ensure samples meet standards for fit, quality, construction, and design intent.
• Identify development challenges and propose solutions balancing design and cost.
• Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Production and external partners to execute products.
