Sun Recruiting, Inc. partners with a women’s apparel company in New York City to hire a Technical Designer who will translate concepts into production-ready tech packs and guides.

You will develop and manage BOMs, measurements, grading, and construction details, and you will lead fit sessions with live models to ensure accurate specs and consistent fit. Collaboration with Design, Product Development, and external suppliers is essential to balance aesthetics, manufacturability, and cost while

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or related field.
• 3–5 years of Technical Design experience in apparel.
• Experience with women's apparel; outerwear/activewear preferred.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and CAD.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, grading, and fit evaluation.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain detailed tech packs, including sketches, measurements, grading, construction details, and specifications.
• Create and manage BOMs, packaging requirements, care/labels, carton markings, and related documentation.
• Conduct and participate in fit sessions using live models.
• Analyze fit, identify revisions, and communicate clear comments to vendors and internal teams.
• Review prototypes, fit samples, and pre-production garments with pattern makers and manufacturing partners.
• Ensure all samples meet standards for fit, quality, and construction prior to production.
• Identify development challenges and propose practical solutions balancing design and cost.
• Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Production, and external partners to support product execution.
